DMC/Local Operator for the Falkland Islands
Tailor Made Itineraries, Wildlife and Landscapes, Trekking & Hiking, Culture & Heritage, Adventure

An abundance of wildlife in its natural habitat (no man-made walkways or viewing platforms) that you are guaranteed to see, combined with very few humans (there is only about 3,500 of us!), and wide open spaces with big blue skies make the Falklands a mecca for keen naturalists and photographers, or for those just looking to get off the beaten track and enjoy a wild and unspoilt environment.

When to visit?

Deciding when to make your client's visit to the Falklands will depend largely on their interests. If it is to catch a certain species at a specific point in its breeding cycle  or wanting to see the penguins nesting when they are easy to photograph, or more active once the chicks have hatched? Or are they chasing flora, desperately want to try a fresh diddle dee berry, or hoping to see whales?

October is a magical time as the Falklands start to come alive again, November – January are by far the busiest months for wildlife enthusiasts and booking well in advance will be key at main destinations, but if you want to come later in the season (maybe March or April) you will still see plenty of wildlife and enjoy many other aspects of the Falklands including excellent trout fishing.
